Overview

Similar to many other industries, the construction industry is seeing a fundamental shift towards long-term sustainability. The focus is no longer on just the structure and aesthetics of a building, but also the surfaces within it. Technological advances in the construction now allow for an invisible layer of protection; one that provides resistance against bacteria growth on various surfaces.

Problem

With many components of modern architecture being highly susceptible to damaging bacteria, mold and mildew growth that may reduce their life or provide an unclean environment there is a universal and growing need to keep surfaces clean.

Solution

Antimicrobial technology can be incorporated into a wide range of products, in virtually any building. This technology inhibits the growth of microbes on surfaces, making it ideal for a diverse set of applications. When conditions become ideal for bacteria, our technology uses its antimicrobial properties to resist bacteria growth. This “smart” release allows for long-term protection.

The Agion® Antimicrobial is presently registered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as a preservative and bacteriostatic agent for use in treated articles under 40 CFR 152.25a.
