Sciessent Appoints Dr. Sassan Jahangiri as Textile Support Specialist in Turkey

Expands technical transfer team supporting global distribution partners

Beverly, MA — (June 25, 2020) Sciessent is pleased to announce the addition of Sassan Jahangiri, PhD to the company’s technical transfer team. As the senior level technical sales manager for Turkey, Dr. Jahangiri will serve as a liaison between Sciessent, its local distributors and their customers, providing technical and commercial support in the development of textile products.

Dr. Jahangiri brings 16 years of experience in the textile industry to his position at Sciessent, with expertise in business development, sales, research and development (R&D), engineering and quality control. He most recently served as a technical specialist and salesperson for Sardes Tekstil, a distributor of Devan Chemicals in Turkey.

Prior to Sardes Tekstil, Dr. Jahangiri was business development manager for Merkas Textile Co. (Hassan Group), which manufactures materials for the nonwoven and technical textiles sector. In this role he had responsibility for R&D, market research, feasibility research and project management for new products manufactured internally on Merkas Textile’s main lines or outsourced to the company’s production partners. He previously served as an R&D engineer for Mir Ar-Ge (Mir Unique Solutions R&D), where he took part in projects for the Turkish Defense Industry and Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI).

Dr. Jahangiri holds Doctorate and Master of Science degrees in Textile Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Industry Engineering from Azad University, and an Associate’s Degree in Chemical Textile Engineering from Azad University.
